Starting an ACF Group

Want to start a ministry on your campus? Here are some of the steps you might want to take when starting a new ACF group.
If you want to talk to someone about how to do this, feel free to contact us at info@acflink.org.
- Pray! God has resources, knowledge, and power beyond all human abilities, and He is the one that can make your efforts fruitful.
- Ask for help. Talk to the pastors of churches near the college/university, and find out if they know of any other SDA students in the area, or if they are aware of any other campus groups already meeting. Sign up for an account on this web site, and ask on the discussion list
- Find others. This is a little bit like finding a needle in a haystack, so be creative. You can search on Facebook, put up a table at student orientation, advertise in church bulletins, advertise in the school newspaper, and talk to the chaplain’s office.
- Get together. When you find others who are interested in worshipping and fellowshipping as Adventist students, you can start helping .
- Get organized. Becoming an officially recognized student group can open up access to school resources such as meeting rooms, web space, and more! A sample constitution for an official student group is available at the bottom of this page. You may also want to build connections with the student government, and the university office that takes care of religious life.
- Get connected. We’d like to be able to recognize you as an official ACF group - please contact us and we’ll be happy to help you get your group listed on this site, hooked into the larger ACF network, and more.
If any part of this feels a bit overwhelming, always remember that you have God to lead you, and a group of supporters who care. We’re always happy to help if you contact us.
